    Bespoke Timber Joinery, Made in Nottingham

    Old English Doors is a specialist workshop producing bespoke timber doors, windows, stained glass, gates, and porches for period and character homes.

    Everything we make is designed from scratch for the specific property it serves — not adapted from a standard range, not assembled from a catalogue of pre-set options. A genuine bespoke process, from first consultation through to final installation, carried out by the same team throughout.

    Our work spans every major architectural period found in British domestic housing. Georgian proportion and restraint. Victorian decoration and stained glass. Edwardian light and openness. The geometric confidence of the 1930s.

    Each era has its own design language, and getting it right requires understanding the specific proportions, materials, and construction methods that belong to that period — not a generic "period style" approximation. Where a property is listed or sits within a conservation area, our heritage joinery is designed and documented to satisfy the evidential standard that listed building consent and planning authorities require.

    Every piece we produce is built in solid hardwood using traditional mortice and tenon joinery — front doors, internal doors, wooden windows including sash and casement designs, hand-leaded stained glass, wooden gates, and wooden porches.

    We also supply Residence 9 timber alternative windows for homeowners who want the visual character of timber with reduced long-term maintenance.

    Our workshop is based at 5 Daleside Road, Nottingham, and we design, manufacture, and install across Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, Sutton Coldfield, Manchester, St Albans, Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Northampton, Warwick, Solihull, and Worcester.
