Bespoke Quality, Without Designing From Scratch
Every door we build in our Nottingham workshop is made to fit the opening it's going into — that part never changes. What changes with Elegance is the design process. Our fully bespoke design service starts with a blank sheet, designed entirely to your specification. Elegance starts from a defined set of styles, colours and glazing options engineered by a specialist European manufacturer for consistent quality and faster turnaround.
The result is a front door that's still made-to-measure and still factory-finished to a high standard — tested to PAS 24 and Secured by Design, the same benchmark we hold our bespoke doors to — priced and delivered more like a supply-and-fit product than a from-scratch commission.
31 Styles Across Nine Design Families
Every Elegance door is built on the same engineered redwood frame and tested to the same standard — the difference is purely aesthetic. Every style below is available in the full colour, stain and glazing range.

Stable Doors & Wider Openings
Any style above can be built as a top-and-bottom stable door, or widened with a matching side panel or top light.

Stable Door

Side Panel
0.95W/m²K (as low as)
Every Elegance door is built around an insulated core — an extruded polystyrene (XPS) rigid foam insulation plate, sandwiched between vertical and horizontal veneer layers and an aluminium stabilising, security and moisture barrier, finished in a 1.5mm quarter-cut veneer. That construction is what gets thermal performance as low as 0.95 W/m²K, keeping heat in as effectively as it keeps weather and intruders out.
Why Choose Us
What You're Actually Getting
Precision-Engineered
Frames and slabs are CNC-manufactured to your exact opening size, then factory-finished — the same manufacturing discipline behind our steel and glass internal door range, applied to timber.
Tested to PAS 24 & Secured by Design
Every Elegance door meets the same security standard as our fully bespoke doors — multi-point locking, security hinges, and 6.8mm laminated glass as standard.
A Genuinely Wide Style Range
31 panel designs, a full colour and stain palette, any-RAL upgrades, and a large decorative glazing catalogue — this isn't a three-option supply catalogue.
Made to Your Opening
Standard sizing covers 850–1080mm wide and 1900–2250mm high, with custom dimensions available on request.
Supplied and Fitted by Us
As with the rest of our range, Elegance doors are measured, ordered and installed by our own Nottingham-based team.
A Faster Route Than Full Bespoke
Because the design work is already done, Elegance typically moves from quote to installation faster than a from-scratch commission.
Built to a Real Standard, Not Just a Nice Finish
Every Elegance door shares the same engineering underneath the finish — the same construction, security hardware, and weatherproofing regardless of which style or colour you choose.
Construction
Rebated slab on an engineered redwood frame, built up from an insulating foam core, vertical and horizontal veneer layers, and an aluminium stabilising and moisture barrier, finished in a 1.5mm quarter-cut veneer.
Security
Hung on 3 heavy-duty adjustable steel hinges (27mm plasterline clearance) with a multi-point locking system and 6.8mm laminated outer glass, tested to PAS 24 and Secured by Design.
Weatherproofing
Integral draught strips and purpose-designed weatherbars, with a low-level aluminium threshold as standard (19mm clearance).
Thermal Performance
Insulated core construction gives a U-value as low as 0.95 W/m²K — see the full construction breakdown above.
Threshold, Cill & Frame Details
Every door is supplied with an aluminium threshold as standard, offering a 19mm clearance. A 44mm sub-sole can be added to suit differing internal floor levels, taking a choice of 4 cill extensions where needed. Hinges are slimline butt hinges offering 27mm plasterline clearance.

Old English Doors — Full Range
Elegance Alongside Our Bespoke Service
The Elegance range sits alongside our fully bespoke timber joinery — it isn't a replacement for it. If your property is listed, sits in a conservation area, or needs a door designed entirely from scratch to match a specific period detail, our heritage doors service and full front door range are the right starting point instead — including Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and 1930s styles designed panel-by-panel.
We also supply steel and glass internal doors, wooden windows, hand-leaded stained glass, and bespoke gates and porches — all designed, built and fitted from our workshop team.
Elegance Range FAQs
How is Elegance different from your fully bespoke doors?
Our bespoke service designs a door completely from scratch to your exact specification — every panel, moulding and detail decided with you. Elegance is made-to-measure from a defined set of styles, colours and glazing options, which keeps the design process shorter and the cost lower while holding to the same PAS 24 and Secured by Design testing standard. If your project needs a specific period detail matched exactly, bespoke is the right route; if you want a genuinely good door without designing from scratch, Elegance is built for that.
Do you supply and fit Elegance doors, or supply only?
We supply and install, as with the rest of our range. Our team measures your opening, orders to spec, and fits the finished door — you're not receiving a self-install kit.
Can I get an Elegance door in any colour?
Yes. Beyond the standard finishes and stains shown above, Elegance doors can be upgraded to any RAL colour, including a dual-colour finish with a different shade inside and out.
What sizes are available?
Standard sizing covers 850mm–1080mm in width and 1900mm–2250mm in height. Custom dimensions are available on request if your opening falls outside that range — let us know at quote stage.
Is Elegance suitable for a period or listed property?
Elegance styles work well for updating a period home's entrance, but they're built from a defined design catalogue rather than matched to a specific historical detail. If your property is listed or in a conservation area and needs documentation for planning or listed building consent, our heritage joinery service is designed for that evidential standard — take a look at examples of both in our portfolio before choosing between the two.
How long does an Elegance door take, from order to installation?
Lead time depends on current order volume and the finish and glazing you choose. We'll confirm an exact timeframe when we quote your door — generally faster than a fully bespoke commission, since no design stage is needed.
Elegance Doors Across the Midlands
We supply and install the Elegance range from our Nottingham workshop across the following cities and their surrounding areas — see our full locations overview for more on each.
